Activity Description:

• On the day of the event, children wear various styles of traditional Chinese attire (Chinese costumes) to school and participate in traditional art workshops—such as making herbal scented sachets, Chinese herbal paintings, and tie-dyeing—allowing them to experience the unique features of traditional arts through hands-on learning.
• Children enjoy a Cantonese Opera performance. In addition to sharing the origins and history of Cantonese Opera, the performers demonstrate stage props such as traditional stage weapons ("Bazi") and horse whips, offering interactive opportunities for the children to try them out. This hands-on interaction deepens their understanding of Cantonese Opera and keeps them fully engaged.
• Children taste nostalgic traditional snacks—Sachima (sweet egg pastry) and walnut crisps—alongside a gentle sip of Chinese tea. This sensory experience allows them to explore the rich flavors of traditional Chinese food culture, sparking their interest and curiosity.
